About Us
The Church of the Resurrection is a parish of the Diocese of New York in the Episcopal Church. Our church is Anglo-Catholic in doctrine and style, and we have an extensive and beautiful music programme. Our services are in traditional language and reflect the beauty of the Anglican and Western Catholic traditions of liturgy and music. Our church is inclusive and open to all, and we would be delighted to have you visit us on Sundays or during the week. This Month in Pascha Nostrum
July 2010: As I write this, the Feast of the Sacred Heart has just passed, and we have had three hot and steamy Sundays in church in a row. This seems to indicate summer has come! The Choir have adjourned for their summer holiday (apart from the Feast of SS Peter & Paul) and we have now come to the time of (mostly) green vestments, congregational mass settings and old favourite hymns. The New Casavant Organ
Resurrection’s organ is a rebuilt vintage Casavant (1916) pipe organ originally installed in the cavernous basement chapel of the Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Lewiston, Maine. The organ campaign, begun in 2005 and completed in 2007, resulted in donations from parishioners, school families, and the Friends of the Resurrection across the country and around the world. Work on the organ began in 2007, the first services with the new organ were Christmas 2009, and the inaugural series of recitals and other events will begin January 2011.
