• A moving and solemn recreation of St. Matthew’s Passion, with ancient
  Gregorian Chants
• Child care available

 

Thursday, April 17
MAUNDY THURSDAY
7:00 PM

• A Mass recalling Christ’s Last Supper with this disciples, with haunting
  Gregorian Chant
• Procession with incense
• Period of Silent Prayer afterwards at the beautiful Altar of Repose:
  9:00 PM to Midnight – come when you may, leave when you must

 

Friday, April 18
GOOD FRIDAY
12:00 Noon
• The most solemn day of the year, commemorating Christ’s Crucifixion
• Chanting of St. John’s Passion
• Sermon on the day’s events
• The Cross is unveiled for veneration

 

Saturday, April 19

EASTER VIGIL
7:00 PM

• The new fire is kindled in the dark, symbolizing new life
• The Easter Candle is blessed with an ancient chant
• Lessons from the Old Testament recall our shared history with Judaism
• The baptismal font is blessed recalling the connection of Baptism with Easter
• The ancient Litany of the Saints is sung, as has been done for the last 1500
  years
• The first Mass of Easter then follows
